SOFTGAMES is looking for a Head of Business Intelligence / BI to join our team either remotely or in Berlin, Germany.
As a Head of BI you will have full responsibility and ownership of our data warehouse and lead a data team of engineers and analysts crunching the data of a growing number of 10 Million MAU. Data drives the day to day work of our game teams. You will support data driven decisions by further developing a trusted data pool, making this data available and providing insights and analyzes.
We have a flexible working setup - either fully remote or on-site in central Berlin.
As Head of BI you will:
Lead a distributed remote team of currently 5 Data Engineers and Data Analysts.
Develop, train, mentor and further staff the team.
Organize the day to day project management, work prioritization.
Own the strategy, design, development roadmap of our data warehouse and reporting systems: including information acquisition, management, monitoring, warehousing and delivery solutions.
Ensure the punctual availability and trustworthiness of data.
Report to the Head of Studio.
You are deeply familiar with the F2P and mobile games business: marketing data, cohorts, CPI, LTV, ROI, ROAS - as well as inner game KPIs like retention, sessions, virality, level difficulty, player distribution, game economies and others.
You are an expert in working hands-on with games data coming from a diverse variety of sources: knowledge of SQL, familiarity with PYTHON.
You know how to communicate data insights effectively: let it be an interactive dashboard, a deck or presentation or verbal communication.
You are familiar with the state of the art solutions for storing, scaling and analyzing big data and typical inherent boundaries.
You have a good understanding of aggregations, how to optimize ETLs and establish scalable data processing pipelines.
You hold a master’s degree in computer or data sciences, statistics, economics, math, or a related field.
Many years of related work experience in analytics, business intelligence and data warehousing, who brings knowledge of building and running a growing inhouse data warehouse.
Many years of leadership experience in managing a cross-functional team - demonstrated experience to attract, retain and develop strong talent and build a positive organizational and team culture - as well as effective stakeholder management
An opinion about services like AWS and their different features, flavours of SQL, database types such as Vertica and Snowflake, distributed systems such as Apache Spark, orchestration systems such as Apache Airflow
Plenty of experience of both success and failure of data pipelines
Knowledge of services such as DeltaDNA or Unity Analytics - a plus
Proactive and self-motivated - able to deliver results.
Clear communicator: written, verbal and visual.
Excellent English skills (spoken and written), German is a plus but not required.
